Vernice museum, worth stopping by to learn something. Park Ranger is very knowledgeable and friendly.
Good historical place for history buffs. The building/museum is in a bit of ill repair, but the displays are pristine and the memorial is very nice. There is a decently kept grounds and nature trail as well. A good place for a picnic and a little learning.
Small site off the beaten path. The museum isn't much but if you're a Civil War history buff you'll enjoy it. The story of Davis's capture is the best part. There's a short nature walk that loops around the property and passes through a restored version of the campsite where he was captured.
This is the major chill spot for Sloan Kettering and Johnny Hopkins, we had a great time just for a hour break from the monotonous driving..
